Visual Survey Data System (VSDS) 4.1
Overview
The Visual Survey Data System (VSDS™) automates the process of data capture, display and reporting of radiation and contamination survey information. VSDS is an easy-to-use, mouse-driven, Windows-based program where digital images serve as the background over which radiological survey data is recorded. Survey locations are identified on the images with unique editable symbols which contain the radiological data. All data is stored in relational database tables to enable easy reporting and trending. Viewing, entry, updating and approval of surveys can be performed from any location on the network.

VSDS is the benchmark of paperless surveys.
Images can be obtained or created with a wide variety of commercially available software. VSDS supports the importing of a number of common image formats. The images used for VSDS are cataloged in a database to allow easy access and revision as facilities are modified.
Survey Data input involves dragging data point symbols and dropping them into the image. The VSDS interface than allows entry of the numeric data (dose rate, cpm, etc.) for the data points. Optional modules allow users to download data from popular recording survey meters. Password security is provided to ensure that data is entered or modified by authorized personnel only.
Storage of the data for each survey entered using relational database technology and Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) facilitates the integration ofVSDS with your existing radiological data management systems to allow for trending and analysis.
