Current Job Responsibilities Dr. Goans is the radiation medicine consultant to the NIOSH Dose Reconstruction Project. He has provided emergency preparedness response to the private sector, US government and international clients for 15 years. He is a member of the Medical Preparedness and Response Sub-Group of the RDD Working Group (DHS) and a member of the DHS and White House Working Group on Medical Countermeasures for Radiological and Nuclear Threats. Dr. Goans is an expert in the medical consequence analysis and emergency preparedness planning for nuclear/biological/chemical terrorism issues. He also maintains a general occupational and environmental medicine practice. He is a frequent lecturer on radiation accidents and treatment of internal contamination to various national and international groups.
