Current Job Responsibilities Dr. Vargo has twenty five years of experience in applied health physics, radiological protection, and nuclear safety in a variety of professional settings including power and research reactors, national laboratories, fuel cycle facilities, and broad-scope licenses. His specialties include radiation protection program development, personnel dosimetry, dose reconstruction, education and training, and emergency management. International experience includes extensive work in republics of the former Soviet Union. Dr. Vargo's main responsibilities with MJW are to provide our radiological clients with his broad and extensive range of health physics expertise and real world experience. Dr. Vargo currently is a Dose Reconstructor providing support to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Dose Reconstruction Program. Dr. Vargo conducts dose reconstructions for claimants under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act. His primary focus is to develop coworker data sets for various DOE and AWE sites to help streamline the dose reconstruction process for claimants with insufficient dosimetric histories.
